    ... GWS Youth Activities for 2010 ...

On Sunday, August 29, 2010 at 3:00 p.m., our Sunday School Department
attended The Wiz, a musical play at the Hattiloo Theatre.
We thank Mrs. Regina Baker for her faithful and diligent
    efforts in this cultural experience.

    "GWS Sunday School Incentive"

The Greater White Stone Sunday School Department
rewarded the Youth and Young Adult of the church with free admission to a local skating ring for fun, food, and fellowship. These students were rewarded because they had attended Sunday School regularly during the Winter Quarter (December 2009 – February 2010).

    ATTITUDES TOWARD SERVING

No matter what you are doing for God, it matters! If you serve on the set-up or tear-down team in a new church, it matters. If you are a greeter and seek to warmly welcome people to your weekend services, it matters. If you are hidden away preparing Communion, it matters. Serving your community, serving the church, serving your family—it all matters.

Scripture: "In the morning sow thy seed, and in the evening withhold not thine hand: for thou knoweth not whether shall prosper, either this or that, or whether they both shall be alike good."
    Ecclesiastes 11:6 (KJV)

"Hank Aaron Celebrity Sports Weekend Activities"

We salute the GWS Youth and Young People Department for their outstanding participation in this project. Furthermore, we would like to applause Mrs. Regina Baker for her vision, dedication, and compassion for our young people in this endeavor and the kind cooperation and dedication of the many GWS volunteers.

Congratulations to the church family of Greater White Stone M.B. Church
for a job well done in support of LeMoyne-Owen College!

Several church members attended the Celebrity Sports Breakfast, which was held on Saturday, August 21, 2010.

Madison Neal won a crate full of school supplies at this event.

The United Negro College Fund Gala Banquet was held on Saturday evening August 21, 2010 and Greater White Stone had several members who volunteered at this event.

The 5K Race and/or United Negro College Fund Gala volunteers included:
Percy Baker, Jr., Kay Cunningham, Jennifer Washington, Percy Baker, III, Kim Baker, Claude Anderson, Anthony Prather, Anita White, Eureka Pickett, Phyllis Baker, Tiffany Jones, Jackie Hampton-Walker, Annette Burks, Leshaundra Pickens, Martez Mickens, Kashaee Guy, James Burts, Benny Hunt, and Cordarious Black.

Our volunteers served as Lobby Greeters, Host & Hostesses, Backstage Attendees and wherever their services were needed for the gala. Thanks so very much GWS for your love and support of LeMoyne-Owen College! A special "Thank You" to Mrs. Regina Baker for her loving gentleness, unselfish kindness, and caring interest in the Youth and Young Adult at GWS!

    SUCCESS

The road to success is not straight... there is a curve called failure... A loop called confusion... Speed bumps called friends... Caution lights called enemies... You will have flats called jobs BUT... If you have a spare called determination... An engine called perservance... Insurance called FAITH... A driver called JESUS... You will make it to a place called SUCCESS!!

Parents, please find positive and exciting ways to encourage your children's love for learning. Yet, do not forget that the most important investment is in their faith. Remember: "We shape tomorrow's world by what we teach our children today."

"The character of your children tomorrow depends on what you put into their hearts today."

    Psalm 78:1-8

"But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light."

    A Powerful Tool!

"THE MIND IS A TERRIBLE THING TO WASTE"

    "Dare To Witness For Christ"

Young People start today committing your life to Christ and begin by reading your Bible daily, Pray daily, and develop an unquenchable fire within you to reach out to help the hopeless. Tell them about Jesus Christ our Savior, who came to give us abundant and eternal life.

Finally, when you minister to others, you will be truly surprised with the change in yourself. Remember, we should reach out to people everywhere we go.

God is "able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think"
    (Ephesians 3:20, KJV).

Should you have a problem or need to ask a question about your witness for Christ, or other matters and concerns, send me an e-mail.

    Witnessing!
