| ‡ THE SUNDAY SCHOOL LESSON ‡|
THEME: THE PEOPLE OF GOD SET PRIORITIES
BEARING ONE ANOTHER'S BURDENS
AUGUST 24, 2014
"AN APPEAL FOR RECONCILIATION"
2Corinthians 6:1-13, 7:2-4
2 Corinthians 5:16-21
2 Corinthians 6:1-13, 7:2-4
THOUGHT TO REMEMBER: The 1st step in reconciling with God is reconciliation with one another.
Holy God, Thanks for the message of love from this letter to the Corinthians. May we follow the principles in this lesson and utilize these instructions to heal the divisions in our families, churches, communities, government, and society. We humble ourselves in the presence of Jesus, the prophesied One.
We pray this in the name of Your Holy Son, Jesus, Amen.
KEEP IN MIND
Memory Verse: "RECEIVE US; WE HAVE WRONGED NO MAN, WE HAVE CORRUPTED NO MAN, WE HAVE DEFRAUDED NO MAN."
(2 Corinthians 7:2).
In today’s lesson, Paul attempts to heal the unresolved disagreements and conflicts that characterized his relationship with the Corinthian church. Obviously, the relationship between Paul and the believers at Corinth had been strained. Paul desired to resolve the conflicts, thus writing this letter to the Corinthians. Having to have admonished the Christian believers at Corinth in the past, including the entire congregation, this letter serves to reach reconciliation.
Thoughts to consider:
Don’t give people any opportunity to find faults with the way you serve! Instead, let your lives demonstrate that we are God’s servants.
Always strive to seek reconciliation in your human relationships:
Family – Friends – Workplace – Church.
Today, we have the Holy Spirit to help us better understand and apply the Scriptures. AMEN....HALLELUJAH! AMEN!
Attention All GWS Members:
Please remember to participate in the church benevolent ministry and pray for our members, for we strive to help our sick & shut-in members, especially those who are hospitalized, in nursing homes, or our homebound members.

God comforts us so we may comfort others.
So Call, Write, or Visit a Member today!
Special prayers for Mother Lula M. Gordon, Mrs. Barbara Thurman, Mrs. Tearissie Archie.
Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God and worthy of all praise and honor.

"Have you decided to trust Jesus as your personal Savior?" Do you wish to have a personal relationship with the One who created you and loves you no matter what? Well, yes, today you can ask Jesus to come into your heart. Just tell Him in your own words, or use this simple prayer:
Dear Heavenly and Eternal Father,
Creator of the entire universe, You have revealed Your will to us
through Your Holy Scriptures. In them we may learn Your rules for
serving You. O God, may You continue to be our strength as
we seek daily to live according to Your will. We pray this
in the name of the one who kept Your law perfectly.
In the name of Jesus,
